Rules, Regulations & National Rankings
(Revised December 1, 2007)

A. Participation
1. Participation at any one of the World Pro-Am DanceSport Series events will earn you points to determine your Regional & National Ranking.

B. Honors
1. Individual honors will be based on accumulation of your entries, callbacks, placement and bonus points earned throughout the 2008 Series Events.

2. Top honors will be given at the 2008 Ohio Star Ball to:
a. Top 3 over all Pro-Am Male
b. Top 3 overall Pro-Am Female
c. Top Student/Student
d. Top Teacher
e. Top Studio
f. Most Valuable Player (A, B, C)

C. Prizes
1. Top Teacher

1st. $20,000.
2nd. $10,000.
3rd. $6,000.
4th. $5,000.
5th. $4,000.
6th. $3,000.
7th. $2,500.
8th. $2,000.
9th. $1,500.
10th. $1,000.

2. Top 3 over all Pro-Am male & Pro-Am female students, will receive vouchers worth.

1st. $500.
2nd. $300.
3rd. $200.

2. Top Student-Student, 1st. place only will receive $300. voucher.


3. Team Match
All students of teams will receive vouchers worth.

1st. $600.
2nd. $500.
3rd. $400.
4th. $300.
5th. $200.
6th. $200.

4. Most Valuable Player, 1st. place only in (A, B, C) will receive $300. vouchers.


D. Leaderboard
1. A leader board will be used to keep the up to date status of your ranking. This will be viewed on our website: www.dancesportseries.com

E. Vouchers
1. Accumulation of points earned from callbacks and placements will determine the top 20 students at a World Pro-Am DanceSport Series Events.

2. Top 20 students will each receive a $100 voucher.

3. A maximum of $300. in total can be used at one event.

4. Vouchers can be used only towards Pro/Am entries.

5. A student must spend twice the value of the voucher in order to receive credit.

6. Vouchers can be used only out of your region. (Regional status is based on the state you live in).

7. Voucher(s) must be redeemed at the time of registration for the event.

8. Voucher(s) expire(s) from 1 year of issue.

9. Vouchers are non-transferable.

10. Vouchers cannot be replaced if lost.

F. DanceSport Seriesl Team Match Qualification
1. North America is divided into 6 regions.

2. Each regional team will consist of 12 couples.

Three Age Groups
A. 16-35
B. 36-50
C. 51 & over
In each of the four styles: Smooth, Rhythm, Standard, Latin

3. Points will be based on accumulation of callbacks and placements earned throughout the 2008 Series Events starting with the 2007 O.S.B., and team representation will be decided at the conclusion of the last series event prior to the 2008 O.S.B.

4. Student can represent only one age and style. The night of team match finale, if need be students mybe ask to dance two ages and two styles.

5. Age qualification is based on the first entry of a World Pro-Am DanceSport
Series Events qualifying team match event. That age will continue through out the series.

6. Teacher can be represented more than once.

7. Should there be a tie between two students for Team Match eligibility, we will review the placements of the tied students for the entire World Pro-Am DanceSport
Series season. The Student with the majority of “wins” will break the tie and become the official member of the Regional Team.

8. In order to be eligible to win the World Pro-Am DanceSport
Series Top Teacher Prizes. You must be in attendance at the culminating event (Ohio Star Ball), and you must dance a minimum of 50 pro-am entries.


G. Point Accumulation System (As of February 1, 2007)


1. Pro/Am Teacher:
a. Will have an accumulating ranking system, based on points, from the following paragraph’s 2,3,4,5,& 6.

2. Pro Am Showcase or solos exhibitions will receive 1pt. per enter.

3. Pro Am Single or 2 Dance Entries.

1st. 8 pts.
2nd. 7 pts.
3rd. 6 pts.
4th. 5 pts.
5th. 4 pts.
6th. 3 pts.
7th. 2 pts.
8th. 1pt.

Each and every recall from preliminary rounds 4 pts.
Uncontested will be 1/2 point

4. Pro/Am Adult 3, 4 or 5 Dance Entries:

1st. 20 pts.
2nd. 15 pts.
3rd. 10 pts.
4th. 8 pts.
5th. 6 pts.
6th. 4 pts.
7th. 2 pts.
8th. 2 pts.

Each and every recall from preliminary rounds 5 pts.

5. Qualifying Team Match Points.

1st. 30 pts.
2nd. 20 pts
3rd. 15 pts.
4th. 10 pts
5th. 8 pts.
6th. 6 pts.
7th. 4 pts.
8th. 4 pts.

Each and every recall from preliminary rounds 6 pts.

6. For every Student that competes at a World Pro-Am DanceSport Series Event
and does:

10 Entries Teacher and Student receive 100 Bonus Points*
20 Entries Teacher and Student receives 200 Bonus Points*
30 Entries Teacher and Student receives 300 Bonus Points*
40 Entries Teacher and Student receives 400 Bonus Points*
50 Entries Teacher and Student receives 500 Bonus Points*


7. The Teacher will receive 50 Bonus Points* for every student that dances in a World Pro/Am Dancesport Series Qualifying Team Match Event throughout the year.

8. The teacher will receive 200 Bonus Points* for every student he/she competes with on the Regional Team for the World Pro/Am Dancesport Series Team Match in November at the Ohio Star Ball.

9. **Please Note: in fairness to our participating Professionals, these bonus points will only be awarded to those Teachers who are competing with their own students at World Pro/Am Dancesport Series events. Professionals who dance with other Professional’s students are not eligible to receive bonus points.

10. Pre-Teens, Juniors & Youth:
a. If couples or Pro/Ams pay full fees they receive same as adult entries if couples or Pro/Am’s pay reduced fees they receive 1/2 point if couples or Pro/Am’s pay no fees they receive no points
b. Students entered in special categories will receive half points.

11. Will have an accumulating ranking system, based on points, from one World Pro/Am Dancesport Series event to another.

12. The Top Students & Student/Student:
a. Will accumulate points based upon the same system as Top Teachers. These points will accumulate from one World Pro/Am Dancesport Series event to another towards Top Awards for the year.

13. Top Studio Award:
a. To qualify, you must have a minimum of two teachers competing in Pro/Am.
b. There will be six placements.
c. Multi owned studios with different locations, can not combine scores.
d. The points will be awarded as follows:
Points based upon the same system as Top Teachers.

14. All entries must be danced at World Pro/Am Dancesport Series events to receive points.

15. Most Valuable Player:
a. The will be one winner per age group (A, B, C).
b. Points will be based on accumulation from callbacks and placements earned from Qualifying Team Matches throughout the 2008 Series Events, starting with the 2007 OSB.

16. A student who competes in every region will receive 1,000 bonus points at the end of the series.

H. Discrepancies
1. Any discrepancy in scoring or point accumulation must be reported in writing no later than 30 days after the event in question to Report Discrepancy in Scoring. If not, points will not count.
