1. Participation

1.1 World Pro-Am Dancesport Series qualifying events must be labeled as Dancesport Series in Compmgr or Premier setup to accumulate points.

1.2 Teachers competing in the series must have their NDCA dues up to date and posted on NDCA website. If not, they will forfeit all winnings for themselves and their students.

1.3 Competitors winning awards must be present at the awards presentation at Ohio Star Ball, or they will forfeit their awards. (Exception – Medical reasons or Death in the Family in writing)

1.3.1 To receive the Top Combined Teacher and Rising Star Teacher prize money. The teacher must compete at the Ohio Star Ball with 50 entries or more.

1.4 There is only one official list of events, that is one on the website, events by regions. If events cancel or does not sent in their scores, World Pro-Am DanceSport Series is not responsible.

1.5 World Pro-Am DanceSport Series will only process scores from Compmgr & Premier. Virtual competitions from the events in our series wll not be excepted.

2. Leaderboard

2.1 A leader board will be used to keep the up to date status of your world ranking. This will be viewed on our website: www.dancesportseries.com

3. Honors | Prizes

3.1 Individual honors will be based on accumulation of your entries, callbacks, placement and bonus points earned throughout the 2025 Series Events. • Prize money may vary.

3.2 Top honors will be given at the 2025 Ohio Star Ball to:

3.2.2 Top 6 Rising Star Teachers

3.2.3 Top 6 over all Pro-Am Male Students

3.2.4 Top 6 over all Pro-Am Female Students

3.2.5 Top Pro-Am Male Students Bronze, Silver, Gold

3.2.6 Top Pro-Am Female Students Bronze, Silver, Gold

3.2.7 op Pro-Am Mutli-Dance Student Latin, Rythm, Smooth, Standard

3.2.8 Top 3 over all Student-Student

3.2.9 Top Studio

3.3 Top Teacher Prizes (May vary.)

3.5.1 Top 3 over all Student-Student, will receive vouchers worth.


4. Vouchers

4.1 Accumulation of points earned from callbacks and placements will determine the top 20 students at a World Pro-Am DanceSport Series Events.

4.2 Top 20 students will each receive a $100 voucher.

4.3 A maximum of $300. in total can be used at one event.

4.4 Vouchers can be used only towards Pro/Am entries.

4.5 A student must spend twice the value of the voucher in order to receive credit.

4.6 Vouchers can be used only out of your region. (Regional status is based on the state you live in).

4.7 Voucher(s) must be redeemed at the time of registration for the event.

4.8 Voucher(s) expire(s) from 1 year of issue.

4.9 Vouchers are non-transferable.

4.10 Vouchers cannot be replaced if lost.

4.11 Multi-day event voucher can only be used at multi-day events.

4.12 One day Events

4.12.1 One day event Top 10 students will each receive a $50. voucher.

4.12.2 One day event voucher can only be used at one day events.

4.12.3 A maximum of $150. in total can be used at one event.

5. To Qualify for Rising Star Teacher

5.1 If you ever placed in top ten WDSS Top Teacher category since the beginning of the Series and received money you're not eligible.

5.2Teachers can be eligible for Rising Star and Top Teacher category.

5.3 Scoring will be based upon the current series year scores.

6. World ProAm DanceSport Series Qualification

6.1 WDSS qualifying events.

6.2 Open Latin, Rhythm, Smooth, Ballroom.

6.3 Ages

A: 18 to 35
B: 36 to 50
C: 51 and above

7. Point Accumulation System

7.1 Pro/Am Teacher:

7.1.2 Will have an accumulating ranking system, based on points, from the following paragraph's 2,3,4,5,& 6.

7.3 Pro Am Single or 2 Dance Competitive Entries:

1st. $600.
2nd. $500.
3rd. $400.
1st. 8 pts.
2nd. 7 pts.
3rd. 6 pts.
4th. 5 pts.
5th. 4 pts.
6th. 3 pts.
7th. 2 pts.
8th. 1pt.

Each and every recall from preliminary rounds 4 pts.
Uncontested will be 1/2 point

7.4 Pro/Am Adult 3, 4 or 5 Dance Competitive Entries Gold and above:

1st. 20 pts.
2nd. 15 pts.
3rd. 10 pts.
4th. 8 pts.
5th. 6 pts.
6th. 4 pts.
7th. 2 pts.
8th. 2 pts.

Each and every recall from preliminary rounds 5 pts.
Uncontested will be 1/2 point

7.5 Qualifying World Pro Am DanceSport Series Points.

1st. 30 pts.
2nd. 20 pts
3rd. 15 pts.
4th. 10 pts
5th. 8 pts.
6th. 6 pts.
7th. 4 pts.

Each and every recall from preliminary rounds 6 pts.
Uncontested will be 1/2 point

7.6 For every Student that competes at a World Pro-Am DanceSport Series Event and does:

10 Entries Teacher and Student receive 100 Bonus Points*
20 Entries Teacher and Student receives 200 Bonus Points*
30 Entries Teacher and Student receives 300 Bonus Points*
40 Entries Teacher and Student receives 400 Bonus Points*
50 Entries Teacher and Student receives 500 Bonus Points*

7.7 Revise 1/14/2018 The Teacher will receive 50 Bonus Points* for every student that dances in a Open World Pro/Am Dancesport Series Qualifying Event throughout the year. Starting at California Star 11/2017

7.7.1 Revise 1/14/2018 The Student will receive 50 Bonus Points* for every danced style in a Open World Pro/Am Dancesport Series Qualifying Event throughout the year. Starting at California Star 11/2017

7.8 The teacher will receive 200 Bonus Points* for every student he/she competes with on the Regional Team for the World Pro/Am Dancesport Series Event in November at the Ohio Star Ball.

7.10 Pre-Teens, Juniors & Youth:

7.10.1 Students entered in special categories will receive half points.

7.11 Will have an accumulating ranking system, based on points, from one World Pro/Am Dancesport Series event to another.

7.12 The Top Students & Student/Student:

7.12.1 Will accumulate points based upon the same system as Top Teachers. These points will accumulate from one World Pro/Am Dancesport Series event to another towards Top Awards for the year.

7.13 Revise 1/15/2018 Top Studio Award:

7.13.1 To qualify, you must have a minimum of two teacher competing in Pro/Am.

7.13.1.1 Top Studio Bonus Points To qualify: you must have at lease two students competing to get bonus points. As of California Star Ball 11/2018.

2 students 200 bonus points
3 students 300 bonus points
4 students 400 bonus points
5 students 500 bonus points
6 students 600 bonus points
7 students 700 bonus points
8 students 800 bonus points
9 students 900 bonus points
10 students 1,000 bonus points

 

7.13.2 There will be six placements.

7.13.3 Multi owned studios with different locations, can not combine scores.

7.13.4 The points will be awarded as follows:
Points based upon the same system as Top Teachers.

7.14 All entries must be danced at World Pro/Am Dancesport Series events to receive points.

7.15 Pick 6: Dancesport Series' Dancing Across America

A student and teacher who competes in all six regions will receive 1,000 bonus points at the end of the series.

If they compete twice in all six regions they will receive 2,000 bonus points.

If they compete three times in all six regions they will receive 3,000 bonus points..

Points based upon the same system as Top Teachers.

7.16 Landmark Bonus Points for the 2025 Series

Events offering landmark bonus points must be registered with World Pro Am DanceSport Series, and notify Gary Spencer.

8. Fordney Foundation Junior & Youth DanceSport Series - revised as of 12/1/2022


8.1Fordney qualifying events must be labeled as Fordney in Compmgr or Premier setup to accumulate Points.

8.2Age groups that qualify are based on the National Dance Council of America (NDCA) age groups :

Pre-Teen I: 9th birthday or less
Pre-Teen II: 10th or 11th birthday
Junior I: 12th or 13th birthday
Junior II: 14th or 15th birthday
Youth: 16th, 17, or 18th birthday

It is the responsibility of the couples competing in the Fordney Foundation Junior & Youth DanceSport Series to notify World ProAm DanceSports Series of their age and age changes, parter and or splits. By using the Discrepancy Report Form on the website.

8.3 Fordney Foundation Junior & Youth DanceSport Series Point Accumulation System

Revised 12/2/2022 - Starting with Ohio Star Ball 2022, points will be based only on the following:

Pre-Teen 1 & Pre-Teen 2 - only Closed 5-Dance multi-dance categories Ballroom and Latin only.

Junior 1, Junior 2 & Youth - only Open 5-Dance multi-dance categories Ballroom and Latin only.

All age levels must be separate events. Combined ages will not qualify for points in this category.

Any age level - special 5-Dance multi-dance in Championships, Grand Slam and Scholarship Categories Ballroom and Latin only.

There will be three placement levels for Studios. The points below will apply.

Every 1st Place 20 points
Every 2nd Place 15 points
Every 3rd Place 10 points
Every 4th Place 8 points
Every 5th Place 6 points
Every 6th Place 4 points
Every 7th Place 2 points
Every 8th Place 2 points
Each Call Back 5 points

8.4 Tabulation in scoring will begin at the Ohio Star Ball November 2024 and at designated World Pro Am Dancesport Series Events and at end at the last designated event before the Ohio Star Ball 2025 calendar. Designated Events.

8.5 Fordney Foundation Junior & Youth DanceSport Series Top 10 Awards in the Latin and Ballroom. Prize money may vary this year.

8.7There is only one leaderboard that is official it’s at: https://dancesportseries.com/youthseries.php.

8.9 WDSS Landmark Bonus Points. Do not apply to the Fordney Series.

9. Discrepancies • Grievance • Penalties

9.1 Any discrepancies in scoring or point accumulation must be reported in writing by using the Discrepancy Report Form on the website.

9.2 Discrepancies must be filed no later than 30 days after the event posted date on the Leader Board. If not, points will not count.

9.3 We will not accept telephone calls, email, word of mouth, FaceBook or Twitter. It must be in writing using the Discrepancy Report Form on the website.

9.4 Please do not contact Mr. Sodano or Ms. Fordney at Fordney Foundation, regarding any type of discrepancies or grievance regarding World Pro/Am Dancesport Series and Fordney Youth Series. Please use the Discrepancy Report Form on the website.

9.5 Teachers and students are subject to forfeiture of all points and awards for unsportsman like conduct, for each infraction.

9.6 All discrepancies must be filed before Ohio Star Ball week. No discrepancies will be taken at Ohio Star Ball.
